Day 2 – Let’s Talk About Trays

Evening everyone, Let’s talk about trays!!  Specifically, our Rosa Lifestyle small serving trays. What can they do for you?  Well, again, my inspiration takes me back to my gran and how a small tray would have helped her.  Firstly, she had a massive sweet tooth, no cake was ever safe in her house and if you weren’t fast you were last! Honestly!  My small trays are designed to have food placed directly on them so that you don’t need to bother with a plate…it’s just more washing up really!  The main ‘eating’ area of our trays is 24.5cm x 18cm at their widest parts so ideal for some cake, sandwiches, a snack or any other small meal that takes your fancy.

I know I’ve seen plenty of trays whose outer ridge is moulded up to form two handle-like shapes but I felt it would provide a more secure grip (and a bit more confidence) if there were two actual handles incorporated into the tray design.  So even if your hands are perhaps a bit wet or your finger joints are playing up, you’ll still have a good grip on this tray (and the all important cake!)

The other important difference with my Rosa Lifestyle trays is the inbuilt mug holder – this allows you to carry your favourite cuppa and snack together without the need for an extra trip if efficiency’s your goal.  It’s also handy, if you’re so inclined, to carry the tray and mug in one hand leaving the other hand free to either use a stick or other supporting aid – or maybe you’re the one doing the supporting by lending your arm to your loved one/ friend whilst carrying their tea and small meal on the tray in the other (confusingly in Scotland you could say that you were carrying your tea and tea on your tray but that’s another debate for another time…).

Now whilst I might always have tea and cake on the brain, my more thoughtful customers actually suggested many other uses for the inbuilt mug holder – some suggested putting a nice dip in there with the crudites or nibbles on the main tray section, others suggested a small portion of beans would fit nicely and others suggested a different use altogether for my trays – using it as a hobby tray with their pins etc in the mug holder section and their material or project item in the main section.  I was genuinely impressed with the many different uses that people were considering for these trays…so much for that cake!
